Zaephay, the Final Steps

Yes! Today I finally finished the Zaephay project. The kite is now ready to fly and I'm just waiting for the right (very) light wind conditions ... and some daylight.

With a little help from my lovely wife I’m finally ready to give the Zaephay a spin in the lightest of breezes because today the kite is completed and ready to fly!

Yesterday I finished the leading edge and today I was destined to complete it all. First I pinched holes for the fittings and bridle. Then I attached all the fittings and assembled the kite to see how it looked before I started with the bridle.

I think it looked pretty good and so it got started with the bridle. No fancy stuff but it looks good and flyable too.

So like mentioned above all that’s left to do is wait for some daylight and a light breeze!

Meanwhile we can watch the video!

    That was quick!

The wind is often low in mornings and evenings. Perhaps even the dawn. After all: The early bird gets the late worm.

Yes, now I’m really determined to get this kite ready to fly. It’s about time!

…or going to the stable, feed the horses, mock the boxes and do all other sorts of horse related stuff. Except riding! 😉

Kites are certainly less demanding in this aspect – when finished stow them in a corner and that is often it.
