With the Nordic Kite Meeting and Blokhus & Løkken Wind Festival not too far into the future, we gotta be prepared!

Flying kites annually in the western coast of Jutland for the last twenty years has brought some knowledge. Like…. It can be windy!

We have been facing winds up to 22m/sec (50mph) in the springtime and that makes quality flying far from accessible. I remember back in 2004, the winds were hammering the beach every hour of the day. Flying duallies was extremely difficult, but thankfully Anders had kept an eye on the weather forecast arriving in Denmark with six hard core vented team kites he made for us.

Yes, we could squeeze in quite a few hours of flying, but also many hours trying to repair things shredded to pieces by the winds.

Now when we’re also spending many hours flying quads, the need for vented A Quads emerged. Yes, we do have a pile of standard A Quads, but if the wind really picks up, we can’t fly them. They will break.

So…. What to do?

Well… Here’s a hint….!

Anders prototyping a vented A Quad

Yes, Anders started to work (harder) on a vented version of the A Quad. You know… Switching som icarex panels with mesh and a few other details. The result is what you see in the video above. A great kite living up to its expectations!

Based on Anders’ comments during the process of development, this version felt like a killer, and watching a few other videos I believe he really is on to something.

And guess what… Anders has put the sewing machine out of the closet and making more vented A Quads! 😍😍😍

Making us pretty good equipped for when the wind picks up in Denmark!

Thank you sooooo much Anders!
