Today is Ascension. Twenty years ago, we attended one of the first NKMs. Here's a video to prove it!

The millennium was only a few months old when we set sails for what now has become a big kiting tradition for us up here north! The Nordic Kite Meeting, or as we called it back in those days, The Nordic Sportkite Meeting (NSM).

So on Ascension day we headed south, pickin up Anders M i Gothenburg and Denmark laied just a short ferry trip away.

In those early days, we used to stay at the Danhostel in the little village of Hune just a couple of kilometres in from the Blokhus Beach. However, we drove that fifteen minutes drive up the beach to a place called Grønhøj Strand (Grønhøj Beach) and spent the days there. Not a bad spot for kite flying!

Twenty years ago I was also a bit into shooting video, and off course I brought my good ol’ video camera to the meeting.

Here are fourteen minutes of memories from those days twenty year ago!

(Yeah, I know… the video quality is soooo 2000’ish. Sorry for that, but watch it on a small screen and you’ll be all right!)
