Yesterday evening was good. Low winds coming from the north east and despite somewhat offshore, it set the scene for some Zaephay Zen Moments.
The five reps practice method was initially presented to me by John B at a clinic in Copenhagen back in 2017. I've taken to really like this approach when practicing ... 'cause it works!
After five weeks of lockdown, most of the Norwegian kindergartens opened up again on Monday. Strict measures preventing spreading the Corona virus is the talk of the day.
I haven't been flying a duallie since.... Well, I actually can't remember. So yesterday I entered the field with a couple of duallies under my arm.
As you might gather from the look on my face, the initial flight revealed a few issues. One that I was suspecting from the start and a couple of other ones.
I live just across the street from an old school, and when walking the dogs here the other day I got a great idea while walking by one of the schoolyards.
The weather forecast was spot on. Sunny and just a draft of wind coming in from the sea. Just the right conditions for flying the Zaephay!
Finally it was time for the Zaephay's initial flight. Not the best of conditions, but I couldn't wait any longer!
What initially started with a chat on Messenger, emerged into an idea, had me ending up at the drawing table with a pencil a notebook and Spotify. The wait is over!
Yes! Today I finally finished the Zaephay project. The kite is now ready to fly and I'm just waiting for the right (very) light wind conditions ... and some daylight.
Finally, finally I can see the light in the end of the tunnel! I really hope I can get this kite in the air sometime soon!
There are a lot of people making all sorts of videos these days and share them on all kinds of social media. Now that seems like a good idea and a chat with Farid the other day planted that idea in my head.
