Bitten by the Kite Building Bug

Today I started a new building project. Another QLK is in the pipeline!

This time my plan is to build a standard QLK without any venting except for the mesh along the leading edge.

I have a big box of icarex bits and pieces and I found several useful pieces for building.

Next step was to make the required templates for the wing half. I used a previous template for this, but rather than having one big piece for the wing half I cut the big template into smaller pieces.

When the templates were ready I continued by cutting the icarex pieces, four pieces for each of the wing halves.

Now all the pieces are cut and the next thing to do is to put each wing half together with tape and then sewing it all together.

I’ll keep you posted, so stay tuned!
